Paulette Pyron;
My name is Paulette Pyron. I bought a very small frame shop about twelve years ago. I learned a more or less “quickie” way to frame from the former owner. I framed for about a year and a half before relocating to an area that already had an established framer. Family health issues prohibited me from continuing on with my framing at that time so about five years lapsed in time before I picked it up again. This time, in 2007, I decided I wanted a lot more extensive training so I went to an established framer in the Houston area who taught me additional skills and techniques plus re-taught me in some of the things I had already learned. I actually started framing for the public again in February of 2008. I have continued since that time to gain new skills as the opportunity arises. The more I learn the more I want to learn more new and better ways of framing. I have taken additional lessons through a member of our PPFA chapter. I have found the PPFA organization to be an invaluable asset in the business. I look forward to taking more classes in the future. Although I do not have my CPF certification yet I hope to take the exam in the next year. In the meantime I will continue to take as many classes as I can fit into my schedule and go to the framing industry shows and take classes there. There is still much to learn!
I will do the best I can to uphold the office in a professional yet personal matter.

She has come a long way from being a member of her high school art club, trained as a teacher for art education at Texas State University at San Marcos and University of Alaska in Anchorage when someone introduced picture framing to her in 1980! The rest of ‘her-story’ has been one of passion, dedication, and continuing education.
Adela seeks to continue on the local board encouraging and been supportive of other professional picture framers in the position of Newsletter Editor.
Tom Beer
I was raised on a farm in the northern part of central Iowa. This is where I met my wife Jan, and we raised our 5 children as well as Jan’s step niece who was blind. Her mother passed away at an early age from ALS. We are now blessed with 9 grandchildren.
I went to work in the local supermarket in 1972, doing whatever needed to be done, but mostly working in the meat department. I stayed in the meat business, working my way up to a Department manager in a large supermarket in Lincoln Nebraska. My parents were in poor health and living in the Rio Grande Valley, and it was difficult to take care of them from Nebraska, so in 2002 we moved to San Antonio after acquiring a position with Target as Executive Meat Director in one of their stores.
After 30 plus years of retail experience we decided, in July of 2006, to purchase the FastFrame franchise at 1604 and Bandera Road in San Antonio Texas. This was accomplished after doing extensive research into the framing business and training at the FastFrame Corporate offices in California. Jan worked at the store during the day and I came in after work. However, upon falling in love with the framing business, in January of 2007 I resigned from Target and came to work at the FastFrame full time.
Thank you,
Tom Beer
